From: John Lavin lavin_john@yahoo.com Gents,
Just a quick note to let you all know, I will be retired as of 31 August
2007. That will be 21 years in the Corps and I am hoping to do
another 20 plus as a civilian Marine. I start my new job on Monday
in the Quantico
area. If anyone makes it to the area and wants to get together just
let me know I will make time to sit down and relive some of the good times
I was able to share with you at Charlie Co.
Take care,

Hope everyone has a great Father's
Day tomorrow!
I ran across Mike Ackerman yesterday - he came
by the credit union to say hello. He is out in the Camp Pendleton
area working with the "Wounded Warriors".
Ackerman retired a year or two ago after
multiple tours in Iraq
with 1st LAR and a final assignment on I&I duty (I believe he was
a GySgt when he retired). He is working for the NFL in
the chain gang part of an officiating crew.
I gave him the website address so he'll be
able to get himself listed once he gets back home to Tennessee.
Take good care and Semper Fi,
Bill Birnie

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted May 21, 2007 A note from Cheryl Protzeller - 21 May 2007 Hello all…I am so beside myself with appreciation for all that each and every one of you did to make my husband, Tom Protzeller’s, surprise birthday party a huge success!!! It was absolutely amazing and Tom certainly was surprised!!! I don’t think it could have turned out any better than it did!!! There were about 14 people in attendance and he has received multiple emails and calls from people he has lost connection with!!!! I would particularly like to thank Gene Davis and Mike Kobel for going about and beyond to help me get the word out, the two of you were an integral part of the planning and I hope that if you are ever in the area, that you reach out to us so that I can buy you a beer and properly thank you. I took some pictures and will hopefully get them out to you this week… From the bottom of my heart…THANK YOU!!!
